今回ご紹介しますのは、北欧家具を語る上では外せないデンマークブランド J.L.Mollers社
重厚感をもちながらもシンプルなフレームデザインは日本の住宅に良く馴染む一脚です。
ご依頼頂いたのはアームチェア＃65と合わせて、アームなしの＃80を5脚。購入から20年あまり、アームチェア以外は一度も張り替えたことが無いとのこと。もともと座面ベースが無いつくりですので、落ち込みは早いはずなのですが、これまで良く持ちこたえてくれていました。
――BEFORE アームチェアは過去に、本革から合皮へ張り替えられており、その際に随分と乱暴に張替えされた様子で、背もたれの下地となるハードボードも割れてしまっていました。座面のウェービングシートと共に新たに張り直します。
--AFTER The existing synthetic leather was removed and the internal urethane cushion was replaced, and the seat is now made of high-performance cushioning material Diaflora, completely refurbishing the chair in both comfort and strength.

It has been given a new look from its synthetic leather appearance, and is now made from fabric, giving it a warmer appearance. It's interesting how a chair can look completely different just by changing the upholstery. The frame is still strong, so you can use it for a long time.
